Before the days of eBay, collectors had to go conventions to get the autographs that they wanted. However, these days, you can get an autographed CD from nearly any singer just by visiting eBay.

On there, you will find several different CDs for the same singer, and no matter who your favorite singer, you will be able to get the CD you want. This is probably the easiest way to get the CD because you can do it from home, and you probably won’t pay as much as you would at a concert. There are those who rise to the peak of their specific craft, to which all other people aspire to climb, but few ever come close. For classical music, such is the case with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the child prodigy who would one day become known as the greatest classical musician of all time.

Born on January 27, 1756, Mozart would complete 600 compositions that are recognized as the pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, piano, operatic and choral music. He is the most popular of all classical composers and most of his works are standard concert pieces.

The love of music for Mozart would begin when his sister was seven and he, at three-years-old, would watch with fascination as she was given piano lessons. When he was four-years-old, his father began teaching him how to play the piano. In seemingly no time at all, he could play the piano flawlessly, and by the age of five he was composing small piano pieces.

By the time Mozart was seven, the family was traveling Europe to show off the musical prodigy at courts across the land. One concert tour for the family stretched for three and a half years, from Munich to Paris. During the trip, he met Johann Christian Bach in 1765, which proved to be a large influence on him.

Mozart’s skills showed through during those years. Once, while hearing Miserere in the Sistine Chapel, he wrote it down entirely from memory, producing the first illegal copy of a closely-guarded piece of music of the Vatican.When he was 14, he wrote his first opera which met a great deal of success, with two more operas following when he was 15 and 16.

Throughout the years, until his premature death in 1791, Mozart was a highly influential figure in the world of music. What many consider to be the second greatest composer of all time, Ludwig Van Beethoven, was strongly influenced by him, becoming closely acquainted with Mozart’s work as a teenager.

Throughout history, since his death, Mozart has had his music performed by countless individuals, all of whom cite him as a supreme influence on their body of work. Arguably one of the greatest musicians of all time, Mozart transcended beyond just being a performer and legend, becoming a mythical person, whose mind seemed to touch on a musical part of the world the rest of us could not see.

Much of his music is still played today. The instruments are similar but not the same. They are much more in tune and much more expensive. There are music instrument makers that still make instruments like those that were used in Mozart’s time. However, for clarity, intonation and sound, the more modern instruments whether new or used are superior to those used hundreds of years ago.

The music of Mozart is played in symphonies, quartets and small ensembles. They are still favored during the holidays and are often played at weddings and receptions. While the instruments may have changed and improved over time, Mozart’s compositions remain beautiful and timeless.

For those with a love of mp3 music, beware white noise. Report any unusual signals and sounds you pick up to the authorities and switch off immediately. Do not, under any circumstances, attempt to decipher or interact with these noises.

It is feared that unintentional and un-thought out communication with extra terrestrials will herald a wave of unwanted attention from alien beings and this is totally illegal, what the unofficial embargo on unauthorised communications with other worldly beings. It is also thought that music may be the medium of choice for these communications.

NASA, for reasons strictly on a need to know basis, beamed a Beatles track towards the North Star, much to the consternation of SETI, the organisation that is searching for life on Mars, or any other planet come to that.

Fortunately, this slip up on behalf of NASA has caused no unwanted attention - so far. Advertising humanities place in the universe without organised back up could possibly be responsible for the wiping out of mankind. Any alien species capable of picking up any communication from earth, deciphering it and having the means to find us would be far more advanced than mankind and assumed unfriendly.

According to the SETI institute, if symbolic messages are sent into outer space, there needs to be worldwide consultation on what they will say, if anything is sent at all.

For those of us with mp3 music, how about we all get together and have a simultaneous session of playing The Cheeky Girls? Surely that would be enough to deter any unwanted attention? There must be an abundance of mp3 music that could possibly deter alien invasion. Or encourage it? Which way shall we go?

We could arm ourselves with mp3 music from David Bowie. He always had a fascination for beings from outer space. Bowie suggested there was a starman waiting in the sky, he’s like to come and meet us but he thinks he’d blow our minds. He also suggests we try tuning into channel two on the TV to make contact. Not quite beaming music into space but you never know.

Continuing with the Mars theme, Blondie produced Rapture. In the musical sense, not the physical, unless you were a late teen in the early eighties when she would have done it for you. However, I digress.

According to her music, out comes a man from Mars, you try to run but he’s got a gun. He shoots you dead, then eats your head, then you’re in the man from Mars and go out all night eating cars!

Aiming our mp3 music towards Mars with this kind of offering is bound to put them in a bad mood!
Sheb Wooley thinks he knows how to identify an alien. Apparently, they are purple people eaters with one long horn, one big eye, pigeon toed and undergrowed. If you get accosted by anything matching this description whilst listening to your mp3 music, be sure to hand over the goods and report this incident to your nearest mental institution for evaluation.

Of course, any fans of the Carpenters mp3 music will appreciate their more professional approach to alien interaction. They realise that ‘in your mind you have capacities….to telepath messages through the vast unknown’. They are calling occupants of interplanetary craft, acknowledging ‘you’ve been observing our earth’ and reassuring them ‘we’d like to make contact with you, we are your friends’.

And just how do they know? If SETI are right in what they are saying, and aliens may not be little green men with cute faces and three fingers, then maybe we should be more careful what we put across the airwaves.

If economics are a factor then a digital piano is certainly the favored option with choices varying between a couple of hundred dollars to a couple of thousand dollars depending on your level of expertise and suitability. An upright, however, would have an initial price of two to three thousand dollars and increase much higher dependent on the quality.

Most people enjoy listening to an accomplished pianist exhibiting his expertise, but a novice who is practising scales or generally just practising can produce an annoying noise. Neighbours and even your own family have their limits, which can be reached surprisingly easy, especially if your practise sessions are in the evenings. The one main shortcoming of a digital piano, no matter how good or how expensive the equipment is, it will always have a digital sound to the ears of fellow musicians, although to the layman it may go unobserved. At the moment they still cannot replicate the unmistakable sound of an acoustic piano, but who knows what the future holds.

If you want to learn how to play the guitar like them, you will need to understand that your guitar and you must form a very important and special “relationship”. Just as like any loving relationship, your relationship with your guitar nurture and mature with time.

If you don’t give your guitar enough time and have a deep passion for it, you will never develop a relationship with it. Therefore in order to play the guitar well, you must feel passionately about your guitar and the music you create with it. For without passion, you can never be a good guitarist.

The first thing to remember is “PDR!”. Practice, drill and rehearse is the only way of ever learning how to play the guitar well. You need not practice for hours everyday, but it is absolutely crucial that you practice your guitar regularly and if possible, every day.

There is no point in practicing for 5 hours on Friday and then picking up your guitar again next Thursday. Just practice for about 30 minutes a day would be sufficient for you to become a proficient guitarist in a relatively short time.

What if you do not have the time to practice on your guitar everyday? Well, here are a few tricks to learn how to play the guitar like a pro.

a) Practice guitar chord changes over and over again until you have perfected the changes and are able to change chords fast and smoothly. If you have problem switching from F chord to a D open chord, you could keep practicing this every day until the switch is effortless.

When you have mastered that, then move on to another chord change exercise.

This may sound like a no brainer, but is very crucial because in time to come, you will be able to change chords very smoothly and comfortably, just like a pro.

b) Focus. Find a skill that you can improve on and work on perfecting that. You know that you cannot devote a lot of time to practicing on your guitar, so concentrating on one guitar skill set at a time, and progressively over time, you will have so many skill sets that even the professionals may be awed.

c) Play your favorite song. Everybody has a favorite song. Wouldn’t you love to be able to play your favorite song and sing along as well? So play your favorite song.

At some point, you are bound to get tired of playing only guitar chords and riffs. So choose a song you like and work on it and then perfect it.

In this way you will actually have fun even while you are actually ‘working’ on your guitar and at the same time, gets you motivated.

d) Practice guitar licks. Working on a lick is a good way to learn how to play the guitar well. You can work through the licks many times in just a few minutes. This is a good technique to use while practicing chord changes as well.

e) String picking skills. Doing drills up and down the neck of the guitar can improve your guitar picking skills tremendously, which in turn contribute to you making immense progress with your guitar. Use a metronome to help you build speed so that you can play the licks fast and with good dexterity.

f) Practice guitar scaling. You can actually play a single scale about 70-100 times in ten minutes or so. Practicing by playing scales not only help you build your stamina but also helps you increase your playing speed.

g) Be creative. Play a few different chords that sound good together or even some melodies if you can. This way you can even come up with an entire song of your own!

Yes, play your own compositions and be passionate about your guitar playing. Most importantly, be disciplined and create a routine for yourself and stick to the routines.

These practice sessions may be small, but a few minutes a day and with the accumulation of time, your guitar playing skills will improve so much that very soon you will be playing the guitar like a pro.
